Family Programs Assistant, Museum Education Department, Art Institute of Chicago, September 2012 – December 2013

During my time in Family Programs at the Art Institute of Chicago I had the pleasure of lead numerous Family Gallery Tours. Family Gallery tours focus on creating an intergenerational learning environment for visitor groups that include children and adults. Tours were often thematic and utilized activities that support multiple learning styles. In my position as Family and Community Programs Assistant I managed family art making programs in the Ryan Education Center which included drop-in programs, family festivals, and registered workshops. This included supervising and directing contracted teaching artists, interns, and volunteers. I also assisted with the logistcal planning and staffing of off-site Community Programs. I helped to develop and lead professional training programs for volunteers and interns. Additionally, I maintained and organized data on Family Programs audiences, curriculums, and program documentation. I thoroughly enjoyed support the development and logistics of programming for families in the Ryan Education Center and off-site collaborations between the Art Institute and Chicago organization.
