Doing Democracy: Pedagogies of Critical Multiculturalism
ARTED 5125 (3 credits)
This course provides an overview of historical, ideological, and economic influences of
white supremacy, capitalism, and patriarchy on democracy, public life, and schooling.
Teacher candidates critically investigate prevalent forms of multicultural education
including conservative, plural, liberal, essential, and critical theories and practices.
Prerequisites: Open to art education graduate students or permission of instructor.
