Benched

Itasca, IL

July 28, 2013

Deemed the “most affordable” suburb in the state of Illinois by Business Week in 2009, Itasca is gearing up to celebrate their 3rd annual juried Benches on Parade Fine Arts and Wine Festival. The festival, a traditional end of harvest celebration, takes place toward the end of September. Created in the spirit of Chicago’s Cows On Parade, in addition to offering vendors booths, the city offers 6’ wooden slat benches for selected artists to decorate. These benches in turn are auctioned at the event in addition to a number of them that are placed throughout the city, providing respite for visitors attracted to the area throughout the year by a number of different events, including Music at the Gazebo, Chili Cook-off, a Five-K Run, and an International Beer Festival.
